Laura Brod on Jobs
Growing the Minnesota Economy
The Minnesota Advantage: A quality, well educated workforce; a good work ethic; a superior quality of life; a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism.
Despite our advantages, Minnesota cannot just sit back and wait for jobs to be created. Collectively, our actions must ensure a business environment that is conducive to business development and the creation of jobs. Minnesota will never be the lowest taxed state, nor do we want to be, but we need to keep taxes to a level that does not inhibit the creation of jobs or encourage any company to leave our state.
Today, Minnesota competes not just with other states but on a worldwide basis. State policy needs to acknowledge that trend and give Minnesota businesses the opportunity to compete in the world economy.
Brod Wants Business Growth
Since her election to the Minnesota House of Representatives, Laura Brod has supported policies that encourage both new business development and expansion of existing businesses, both of which grow jobs in Minnesota.
In her work on the Commerce and Tax committees, Rep. Brod is active in pursuing other policies that slow the increase in insurance costs, and initiatives that recognize that significant tax increases hinder a company’s ability to create jobs in our communities. Laura has supported and will continue to support liability tort reform in Minnesota, which will reduce frivolous lawsuits. All of these efforts are focused on making Minnesota a great environment in which our citizens can find quality jobs in our communities.
